I’m now shooting natural light headshots, to see what they’re all about click here

Most of the essential info is here but feel free to drop me a line if you have a question that isn't answered.

How much is it?

£170 for 1 hour.

£300 for 2 hours.

£450 for up to 4 hours

What do you get?

I will email you all the shots we take as low res jpegs. This means you can review them on your computer in your own time. I usually send the shots over for you to choose the same day once payment has gone through.

You choose 2 shots which I will edit in colour and send to you as hi res digital files.

You can purchase extra edited shots for £25 each.

Please allow a week for your chosen images to be edited (but I usually get them done much quicker).

If you lose your low res shots, it’s £25 to re-send them.

FAQs

What should I bring with me?

You just need yourself, a few changes of top and anything you need to do your hair/make-up.

Where are you based?

I'm based in SW London.

What should I wear?

It's impossible to answer this question as no two people are the same. What I can say is that if you bring plenty of options we can try things out and find what works best.

Can I bring Jewellery?

Absolutely.

I’m not sure which length of time to book in for…?

I’ll start by saying that 1 hour is more than enough to get an excellent headshot. There probably wont be time for any major hair/facial hair changes and we’ll only shoot a couple of tops, but you’ll still get tons of variation given the way I shoot.

2 hours gives us time if you want to try more tops, shave and mix up hairstyles. It’s also a great option if you usually find headshots a bit stressful as the extra time can just take the edge off and help to alleviate any anxieties.

The final package with up to 4 hours just slows the pace of the shoot right down, time won’t be a consideration and we’ll get through however many looks you like.

How many shots will you take?

How long is a piece of string...
We will shoot as many images as we need to (and probably a few more).

How will you find my soul in such a short time?

I have a crystal ball.

No black and white version?

I love black and white, but nobody uses black and white headshots anymore.

… but how will I be cast in classical pieces without a B&W headshot?

lol.

I am not photogenic.

Woah, woah, woah…. stop the music!

ok, it’s serious talk time.

Firstly, who and whatever you are, you are good enough, right now in this moment… and every moment. There are a billion versions of you which are infinitely interesting/beautiful/alive, and all of them available, all the time.

My job is to catch them, so that you can choose from them.

How long do you keep the shots on file?

I don’t ever delete them so if you want extra edits in the future it's no problem.

Do you do discounts?

I do discounts for returning clients.

Can I have some shots outside?

No, I shoot all of my headshots indoors so that I can guarantee a consistent aesthetic…. and weather.

...But I want some trees in the background...

I'm not even going there.

I’ve been told my castability is ‘strong but vulnerable fire wizard with a nerdy edge’, how will you capture that?

you’re too much

you bring the wizard, I’ll bring the fire.

Can I charge my phone?

Yes dude.

Are you the same Chris Mann that came 4th in the 2012 season of ‘The Voice’?

…only one way to find out.

Can I bring my mum along?

If you’re under 18 yes.

Otherwise, no.

Best friend?

Still no.

Who took your headshots?

I did.

How?

Magic.

I have a huge spot on the end of my nose, should I cancel?

No.

Photoshop exists to help out with little things like spots which we all know can pop up at the most inappropriate times.

Pronouns?

He/Him

How long have you been doing this?

Over 13 years.

How do I pay you?

Bank transfer for the deposit to secure the date and then the remainder on the day by bank transfer.

I don't want to pay for extra shots so can I just have extras unedited?

No.

Can I edit the shots myself?

No.

Can I have the full copyright for my shots?

No, the shots are to promote you as an actor within the industry, I give you permission to do so, but I will always be the owner of the images.

Have you seen that episode of Friends where Chandler gets headshots?

I live it every day.

What if I don't like the shots?

We will take our time to review the shots together throughout the session and this will allow us to create the shots you require. If you are honest with yourself and me during the session we can't go wrong. It's important to understand we are working in a subjective industry, not everyone will like my shots. I am at ease with the fact that my work isn't for everybody so please make sure you are before booking.

There is no right to reject on the basis of style, content, composition or editing.

What if my agent doesn't like your shots?

Now listen. There are lots of agents (big and small) who recommend me to their clients and there are people who seek out my work because it is imbued with life and stands out from the norm. By the same token, there are people who do not like the way I shoot and there is nothing I can (or want to) do to change that. For this reason it is important that you talk to your agent before you book. If your agent doesn't like my aesthetic and you worry about what they think it's probably best to look at other options.

Did I detect a northern accent?

You did.

A lot of this seems geared towards actors, do you shoot non actors?

Indeed I do.

There’s a common misconception amongst people that actors love having their picture taken but this is largely untrue. Actors are just people like you (probably louder people, but still people) and at the risk of sounding corny, I just shoot people.

How do I know you're not just some crazy bloke with a camera?

I'm a Founder Member of The APHP and an Associate member of Headshots Matter
